People who think the United States is a horrible country, which country are they comparing? ?

There are plenty of countries sadly that are better than ours is now. Our country had actually began it's decline in the late 1960's under the Johnson Administration, took a hit under Nixon, another under Carter, then stayed where it was up until the Clinton administration, and has been dropping since that time, under each of the successive administrations. Where in the early 1960's, our country was at the top, since the mid 1960's has dropped from a global perspective. The biggest harm has been from the two extremes, who are polarizing people, and dividing us into small groups, over any attempt to keep us as a people united, and by extension a country that's united. It was best said "a house divided against itself can not stand", which was a part of Lincoln's speech. However the basis of that statement, goes much farther back historically.

Freedom of the Press of any importance to you?
USA in #45
What would you like to use as comparison data? There are plenty of reports, and the USA is dropping like a rock under Trump.
