    The value of that is an irrational number which means it can't be represented exactly as a fraction using integers or as a decimal that terminates or ends in a repeating pattern.

    The best we can give you is a rational approximation to some number of decimal places, but that's still not exactly equal to √2.

    If you press the windows icon at the lower right hand corner of the page, you will get a dialog box that list  programs on your computer.  Select the calculator.  Press the list icon in the upper left corner of the calculator.  You will get a dialog box of various calculators to select.  Select the scientific calculator.  This calculator has a square root function.  If you enter the number 2 in the calculator, and press the square root function, it will give you the square root of 2..
