Was love in the early 2000s different than today?

Was it more real, passionate and innocent? Sometimes I think of movies like titanic, jude the obscure, or tv shows like roswell or smallville, and realize love was somehow different than today. People were really in love, today they date, and notice you only if they don't have anyonw else from theie circle of friends to turn to.

Not really. The type of love you described as seen in your list was more prominent in the 40s, 50s (or before then) when people respected the idea of love according to the Bible not according to what the world thinks which is vastly distorted and selfish, materialistic with a me first attitude.

The apostle Paul tells us: “Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury.” (1 Corinthians 13:4, 5)

You mean back when sex was something you DID with SOMEBODY rather than something you HAVE (as if the other person is inconsequential) ?

probably. Just like being personnel is better than being human resource
