Imagine if all the time, money and energy spent on religion was diverted to something good like education or healthcare.Would this be better?

Religion had its time in history. It's called the dark ages.

where would our society and civilization be
if Christianity had never existed?
Would we have the same morals as did the societies of the ancient Greeks and Romans?
(Note: very possibly!)
Would that be better?

No, because Democrats have their hooks in education, entertainment, law, and politics. My church does humanitarian work around the globe. By our fruits you know us. Stop pretending that religion is a waste of money and energy.

Where do you think education and healthcare came from? The Catholic Church originally established the University System, as well as the Hospital System. Source: How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization, by Thomas Wood.

Spending it on a righteous religion would be better.

Not all religions are life changing. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints 46 years ago. If every person was a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ, there would be no poverty, no ghetos, no crime, no war, no prisons, no pornography, no drug abuse, very little divorce, much greater health and longevity, etc.
The world seeks to change behavior but the gospel changes hearts and then the people change their own behavior.

So very much unbelievably better. But sadly, that's a pipe dream.
As long as gullible religious idiots exist, there will be people like 'megachurch' pastors spreading 'seed faith' waiting to extort them for all they can.
At the end of the day, these people's fortunes come from willing donations given by genuinely stupid, or deluded and desperate people. We can't force them to give anything to a system of education they think is 'satanic' or 'liberal' or a system of healthcare that's actually fair and helps everyone, not just upper-middleclass white families who can (barely) afford it.
America rewards bad people, like all the right wing douchenozzles that were 'cancelled', and yet continue to rake in the pity donations from the alt-right chuds 'owning the libs' by giving these corrupt Aholes their money.
It doesn't even matter if the people receiving these donations blatantly steal from and lie to these idiots, they will STILL donate like blind lemmings, if they're convinced it helps trump, or their alt right agenda.

People like Josh Osteen would certainly have smaller houses.
