Why are scammers allowed to publicly sell get rich quick schemes that everyone knows is bogus?

I've seen these scams all the time on TV. Also, people online sell roulette and casino systems that they claim wins, but everyone knows they all lose in the long run. Why isn't this illegal?

It is illegal but scammers sell schemes anyway. Many intetnet websites are located overseas. TV ads usually say some disclaimer that technically makes it legal. They might say "your results may vary".

If EVERYONE knew they were bogus, they wouldn't be profitable and they wouldn't exist.

Not to mention Televangelist/marketers, Chinese junk peddlers,  miracle weight loss, hearing, seeing and erection cures, psychic healers,  etc., etc.

Things were more carefully monitored when there were only 3 or 4 broadcast networks . . . . but cable tv is virtually unrestricted - about the only thing the crooks can be caught on is mail fraud, but now they get you to order by phone or online and ship with a private carrier, not the US mails.

Casinos have existed for centuries, they just moved online too. Before they were online you mostly didn't win.
