There is no experience required to get into medical school but you have to pass the test.

None, although having some "exposure" to a clinical setting is a benefit.  To get into PA school, you need 2000 clinical hours, but medical school admission in the U.S. is weighted heavily on your undergraduate GPA and MCAT score.

What you are calling "clinical experience" is consider "medically-related experience." The education required to become a physician, as well as the practice of medicine itself, are so rigorous that medical schools want to see evidence that an applicant is thoroughly aware of these demands and has engaged in relevant activities throughout college. These can take the form of academic research, community service, shadowing, and or volunteering in a clinical setting.

No amount of experience will make up for a lower GPA or MCAT score.

I thought it was GPA and passing the test.

None is "required".  It is usually a bonus though.  It demonstrates a commitment to the cause of providing medical care to others.  I don't know that anyone gets real "clinical " experience without already being in med school or nursing school or a similar health care role.  Working in or volunteering at the local health clinic isn't "clinical" experience.  You aren't allowed to do clinical tasks without proper training.  Support work, sure, but nothing that is directly patient-care related.

    Zero.

It's way easier to get into medical school than veterinary school.   Go figure.

Plenty of people go straight from their Bachelor's degree into medical school.
