How does the lottery know that there's a winner in a city?

Some days ago, I saw on the Florida Lottery website that there was 1 winner in Tamarac. How do they know that there's a winner in Tamarac if the winner hasn't even come forward to claim the prize?

ALL Lottery tickets have a unique number assigned to it. The winning Number which is drawn BY COMPUTER or at random when put into a computer is run and when it shows up the matching ticket number is there and based on that number they Know where, when and even what time the ticket was sold.

COMPUTERS!  All lottery ticket numbers are controlled by computers.

The computer has a database of every ticket sold and WHERE it was sold.

so they don't actually know that the winner is in that particular city, only that the ticket was purchased there. The lotto knows exactly what store, and probably the day & time, but the news will only report the city.

They have to keep track of tickets because they need to know when to reset the jackpot. There's another drawing in a few days but the winner usually has 90 days (give or take) to come forward.

You think they hand write out all the tickets?  The computer knows the tickets it printed.

Computer lottery terminal in Tamarac knows all the tickets it sold.  Main lottery computer knows the tickets sold everywhere.
