    a lot bigger

    @ Eloise: O2 and O3 are oxygen-molecules

@ oeman 50: DNA and RNA are considered macromolecules, that can consist of thousands of atoms each

However, viruses don't consist of one molecule. they have DNA/RNA but also an outside shell

Oxygen isn't a molecule; it's an element - although it sometimes hangs around in pairs.

Covid-19 is extremely complex and will likely contain Oxygen in various forms.

For example - do you recognise C12H22O11 (with that O11 at the end ) ?

it would be nice if people can use their own brains

oxygen is ONE  MOLECULE WITH  about 16 electrons in orbit

the 2 p orbits are somewhat filled

would this be smaller than a  protein or  any other multiple  element  like a  virus  of  COURSE IT IS  ...

YES, because the Virus/stricture molecule has LOTS of atoms in it. an O2 molecule has only 2

Coronaviri are bigger than oxygen molecules at something like 150 nanometres, and they're not molecules but made of a number of different molecules assembled together including their RNA genome, the spikes which enable them to latch onto ACE II receptors and so on.

Coronavirus is made up of thousands of molecules, each of which is hundreds of times bigger than an oxygen molecule.

Your probably asking this due to some random mask idea. Wear the mask... if you're dumb enough to ask this, nobody can actually articulate it for you in the first place and all you are going to do is literally infect people from your own stupidity. Wear the mask.. or, honestly, go jump off a bridge. As cruel as that sounds, your life is worth far less than the survival of the rest of us.

    It is very much bigger.

The SARS-CoV-2 virion is 50 to 200 nm in diameter, but an oxygen molecule is about 290 pm. The size ratio is then in the range of 170 to 690.

Bigger. Much much larger. A SARS-Cov-2 virus is about 125 nanometers in diameter. An oxygen molecule is about 0.152 nanometers
