Why are most people trolls on the internet?

Its an open, anonymous forum, with negligible consequences, so when you sit there twiddling thumbs, you spew all kinds of nonsense.

Because there are no repercussions to being a troll, so even people with the slightest of troll tendencies will take advantage of the opportunity sometimes. This results in a crap ton of trolling overall.
