Why are younger people not bothered about the royal family?

Why do they not care?  Should the royal family be more like celebrities so they are more appealing to younger people?

If someone talks about the Queen or other royals most people will look at them as if they are a weirdo and sad and need to get a life.

Should the royals be a bit more like celebs so they are more appealing and relevant?

I’d say they are but also the world is changing. Technology is making the world smaller and we are less introspective as we used to be.

The Monarchy is old fashioned and out lived its use fullness.  The costs to support these people because they were born into it is absurd. Shut the whole thing down.

Younger people tend not to care about the subjects of politics and monarchy, for those who have that particular type of government.  Most people are quite ill-informed, or ignorant about these things. It is when the young people have a reason to get involved, feel involved, that they tend to care. Charles has won some positive interest because he is working to improve the environment, get young people educations, job training, jobs...things of interest to young people...

Because Charles insists on being next instead of retiring as he should. He's too old to hog the spotlight. It's very unhelpful in these times. Young people are sick and tired of wealthy old people controlling everything. The privileged elderly hang on to jobs and even accept promotions well into their 70s when those jobs should go to young people who would also like to own homes, raise families, have nice things, and get work promotions.

  • Because there is nothing to look up to, nothing in their values to admire or aspire to. Council house chavs on the dole, with the morals of alley cats, are everywhere.

No idea where you are getting that from. Look at the turnout for events and you will see there are many young people attending. They have no need to behave like celebrities, being directly related to the monarch is fame enough. Harry was popular with young people, but now he has stepped back from front line duties we will start to see William and his family come to the fore, especially when his father becomes king.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla are very popular with the younger set. When Charles and Camilla become king and queen, younger people’s enthusiasm about royalty will increase tremendously.

They should be abolished, they are from the dark ages, don't do anything appealing to young people and don't do anything relevant for anyone. Not many countries still have a monarchy or a dictator with a relative who takes over when they die. (same thing)
