What is the best thing to do for a frozen shoulder ?

My right shoulder is totally frozen. I saw a doctor she wants  me to do physical therapy but I  have to wait for an okay from my insurance company. Until then does anyone know what I can do or what exercises will help? Also would it be better to ice it or use a hot pad for it?

 That is what it is called a frozen shoulder. Does not mean  it is actually frozen  from the cold. It just means i  can't move it. It is stuck in place .
