Why does drinking Odwalla or other thickened fruit smoothies give me a strong aftertaste a few hours later?

To the reply stating "Bacteria thrive on sugar" and saying my mouth stinks - no, that's not it, because many other sugary things that I have eaten/drank do not do this, and my mouth does not stink.

Probably the sugar. Brush your teeth.

    Sugar.  Bacteria thrive on sugar.

Brush your teeth including your tongue.   That "aftertaste" is just your stinky mouth.
