In general, yes, but in recent days in the hot weather, it apparently has been a bit of a nightmare with lots of crowds.

It is as good as any beach in a fairly large seaside town. And it partially depends or your own definition of a 'good' beach. What facilities and atmosphere would make a 'good' beach for you?
