Looks should play little, if any, part in a home theater system. 

     

What matters most to me is performance and expected longevity. 

     

Any system that comes in only one or two boxes is an inferior piece of sh*t   

and should be avoided like the plague --- or, in present-day terms, the covid virus.

A decent $600 system with a proper home theater audio receiver and set of proper home audio speakers will sound far, far better, and will look better than that steroid-y piece of junk.
