we can use a simple mass ratio based on formula weights

KCl / KClO3 = 74.55 / 122.55 = X / 5.5

solve for X

X = 3.3 g to 2 sig figs

2KClO3 ---> 2KCl + 3O2

2 moles of KClO3 gives 2 moles of KCl

hence 147/(122) moles of KClO3 will give = 5.5g/122g moles of KCL = .045 moles

KCl ( in grams) = .045 * 74 = 3.33 gm

Hence 3.33 gm of KCl is produced.
