What author describes a slice-of-life scene of a character sitting alone and doing nothing?
I just want a book and an author that comes to mind. “Doing nothing” might seem grossly puerile and vague, but really a first thought might do.
To those who thumb up useless answers: where’s merit in that?

This is an odd question and difficult to answer because of the vague parameters. What is “doing nothing” to you? If you mean sitting alone and reflecting on stuff, then it’s called an introspective scene and basically every writer includes them in their story at some point.
