If Titan is made mostly of ammonia and hydrogen, how does it survive solar flares without exploding ?

    Hydrogen explodes in our air because it has alot of oxygen without oxygen no reaction 

    The sun itself is not burning its energy given off from fusion of hydrogen

    There is little or no Oxygen, besides Titan is 1 Million miles from the Sun

    There's no oxygen or any other oxidising agent.

    Without something to oxidize the hydrogen/methane/ethane - it can't explode... There's not enough oxygen there to oxidize the atmosphere.

    You are party correct abt Hydrogen and Ammonia. But ..

    .... Broad Composition of Titan shows 98.4 percent Nitrogen and around approx 1.4 percent methane, 0.2 percent Hydrogen and a little bit carbon compounds with  some small surface of Ammonia-rich liquid !

    ...  But such small qty of Hydrogen  and Ammonia may not matter sufficient for large explosions like on Sun's surface !

    ...These molecules are split apart by Sun's ultra-violet light etc etc.

    .. If you have found more substantial amount of Ammonia and Hydrogen on Titan enough for explosions , then better report in scientific journels and university study dept ! :)

    Nothing can explore or catch on fire without oxygen. Titan has no oxygen.

    It's got fuel and fire but no support.  You don't need oxygen for support but you do need SOMETHING that will provide an "oxidizing" atmosphere.  Pure ammonia and pure hydrogen are REDUCING atmospheres.

    Fire requires three things:  Fuel (Hydrogen is a fuel),  HEAT and OXYGEN.

    No oxygen, and too far from sun for any flares to reach it.
