Do people ever change?

Would a selfish self centred manipulative and controlling person ever change? Like after marriage, work and having children?

Almost never. In most cases people treat their partners the best they ever will prior to marriage. Things tend to go downhill from there. So if he's a jerk when you're just dating he's going to be a monster if you go through with the wedding. Children also diminish the energy partners can put into treating each other well. So you've basically got everything backwards in your mind.

It's not  impossible but you should assume it ain't happening.  If they're showing those  bad things to you before the marriage then imagine what they'll show to you after it's hard for you to leave them.

Not likely to change, maybe get worse. Why would you want to even know this person, let alone marry it?

Do they?  Probably not.  Marriage isn't a magic cure for anything.

There is a possiblity they could. Everyone is different. Even so, I would keep an eye on them to ensure they don't try manipulating you again.

Yes they change. Especially after marriage and kids.
