Can you heat pumpkin pie mix in a saucepan?

I'm using a pre-made pie crust so can I heat the filling in a saucepan then add it to the crust?

Why would you heat it? You need to bake it after you pour it in the crust. Cooking it on the stove will.just make a hot mess

the filling needs to be baked, heating in saucepan is not going to cook the crust or the filling
