water leaked on to my gas furnace will it hurt to use it?

    Let it dry and find the source of the leak and fix it first.

    Unless you shorted the electronics that control the furnace, using the furnace is actually the best way to dry it out. If you shorted the electronics, you probably CAN'T get it to work.

    Only if it's too hot to the touch. To avoid pain while using it try wearing gloves or even one of those fully-fireproof suits those bomb-disposal guys wear.

    Yes can cause unwanted rust on heat exchange shorting the life of it.  An there not cheap to replace.   Not to mention your control board is in it water on that c again not a cheap fix.  

    You need to blow out the drain or suck it out with a shop vac .  if that doesn't fix it then you need the system checked might be freezing up.
