Would it be possible to use local anesthesia for PCR tests?

To relieve the discomfort inside the nostril while it is swabbed during the PCR test, would it be helpful if nasal drop of local anesthesia were available?

I think the discomfort is generally much farther back in the nasopharynx than a nasal drop would normally reach. Perhaps a nasal spray might be more effective than a drop, and it might be feasible to do. But for most people, the discomfort is rather minimal rather than painful, so it doesn't really seem necessary.
