Do many people who live in England go to Portsmouth for a weekend break? Or is it not a popular place to visit???????

    Parts of Portsmouth are a bit grim. However it has the Historic Dockyard with HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and severel museums. On the seafront, there is the D Day museum.

    Southsea beach is also very popular.

    Young females who live locally to Portmouth do because of the Naval base and lots of available young men, anyone interested in Naval history, any close family who are invited to the passing out parade, annual Navy Day attracts thousands, there is also the University with 23,000 students, it is also UK's second-busiest portand  handles about three million passengers a year....
