What is your state or national contingency plan if none of the Corona vaccines work?
Will all restrictions remain in place for many years? Will they become permanent? Or will businesses, schools, sports, and gatherings go back to normal without any vaccine or cure?
(Please don't say that a vaccine will work, because I'm asking what the plan is IF they don't work.)

Most pandemics have ended without a vaccine. There was never a vaccine for the Spanish flu of 1918-1920, and there are still cases of flu every year, but they don't cause massive shutdowns. If we bring the rate of new infections down by wearing masks and distancing, we can go back to normal activities- they are in many places in Europe. The map on the Johns Hopkins site has been promising lately, with most states showing a decline in numbers of new cases.
Remember that after the Spanish flu epidemic came the Roaring Twenties!

We HAVE TO go back to normal or we will all starve because nothing will get produced. The virus only has like a 1/2 of 1% mortality rate (Less than 10% of all cases ever get reported because most people recover at home without needing a doctor's visit).
