I had two dwarf gourami's and a beta in a 10 gallon tank, the gourami's were at least 3 years old, they became bloated and died, age?

or water conditions? They were hearty eaters, then got bloated and died, I had them for over a year. I'm wondering if they are sensitive to high nitrates, I did water changes but not as much as I did my 55 gallon discus tank.

Some fish just Do 'age-out'. I just had a jelly bean parrot fish age-out. Jelly beans live 2 years. maybe dwarf gourami's live less?
