What can a boss do about his receptionist who sometimes starts a sentence with “I ain’t” to customers?

    Fire her.  Hire someone who can talk English without sounding like she grew up on the streets of H*ll.  A receptionist represents your company so you want someone who went to school, and listened and learned something, other than ignorance.

  • If the boss doesn't like it or feels the receptionist is being unprofessional by using I ain't, then the boss should talk to the receptionist about it. 

    Instead or I ain't, she can use I'm not or I won't.
