Am I responsible for my mom's depression?

I'm a 22 year old guy and I still don't have a job. My mom is sad because I'm not successful and don't do anything.

If your mom is "sad" it isn't all about you.  Depression is an illness.

You don’t have to be very successful to make your mom happy or show her happiness just honestly get a job somewhere and show her you changed. I’m sure she will be happy.

"Depression" requires a medical diagnosis.  It is not "sad."

No. You are not. It might be a contributing factor or an "inspiration", but you are not responsible for her mood modulation or chemical biological responses.

You aren't necessarily responsible, but you certainly aren't helping.   Are you even trying?
