Does the queen of the United Kingdom have to pay for things ?

Like in a hypothetical scenario if she orders at a McDonald's restaurant at the counter does she legally have to pay or does she get it for free since she's the queen.

Yes, she pays.  When I'm the Queen of England, I plan to charge everything and not carry money.

Well legally speaking Queen Elisabeth is literally above the law. Acts of parliament do not apply to her unless explicitly stated and she  cannot be prosecuted because the courts are under her direction.

However she plays by the rules so as to not damage the institution.

The queen would send someone to get it for her.  Think of the crowd that would gather if the queen went into a McD's.
