If I am exposed to the coronavirus why do I have to quarantine for 2 weeks instead of just getting tested?

If testing positive I know I must quarantine but why must we quarantine if exposed for two weeks instead of just getting tested and waiting for the results in quarantine and then if negative go back to normal?

Even if you have no symptoms you can still spread covid.

If you think you've been exposed or if you have it then you should get tested and go into quarantine / self isolation. If you're positive then you should quarantine for 2 weeks, or until you test negative.
