I saw a head-on collision and after the wreck, the small chevy s10 pickup was leading gas but not the Nissan versa. Could the truck have ?

Exploded? How was it that the small car doesn't have gas leaking or anything else but the s10 did?

Maybe the Chevy was just unlucky and just hit the wrong way.  One accident is not enough to make conclusions about which is better.  From what I read both vehicles are not great vehicles.

The accident caused a tank rupture in the truck due to the location of impact - APPARENTLY the nissan was not impacted the same. The leaking fuel could have caused a fire probably not an explosion but that is not out of the question
