    Raymond chandler for Crime Thrillers

Agatha Christie for who done its.

Earle Stanley Gardener  (Perry Mason) for who done its with with a twist in that you think you know who did it to start with?

Ed McBain 87th Precinct novels for crime mystery.

Perhaps the master of crime is Conan Doyle and the Sherlock Holmes books, superbly crafted and always a joy to read.
