How much is it to add entrance to basement from house?

The home we are buying has a basement but unfortunately doesn’t have access from the home. The entrance is from the garage. Would it be best to build a wall in the garage? Since the entrance is only around the corner. Or would it be better to somehow make an entrance into the home? Like knock down a small section of a wall

Since you already have an entrance to the basement from the garage, it would be easy to create a wall to enclose the entrance. A partition wall is not structurally important in this case.

Adding a stairwell to a home''s interior entails a good amount of construction and support, causing a good amount of money, as well. That is after an engineer is called in and the plans are approved by the building and zoning department.

I do think that if you live with the current basement entrance through the garage, you will realize a simple wall partition will suffice.

You would need to get a good contractor out and run both by, knocking down walls especially if weight bearing is not something you do easily. A professional needs to look at the options
