When all three contestants screw up the Final Jeopardy question and lose all their money, who's usually to blame?

It's rare to see dumb contestants messing up on the last question on Jeopardy!, but when all three contestants screw up the Final Jeopardy question and lose all the money, it DOES leave us, as well as the studio audience, and thousands of tv viewers muttering nothing but "If onlys..." and "What ifs?", because they all got the answer wrong, and missed a golden opportuniy to become the Jeopardy champion?

Is it true that when all three contestants screw up the Final Jeopardy question, the contestants have no one to blame but themselves for not knowing the answer in the first place? And, does it leave you muttering nothing but "If onlys" and "What ifs?", when no one gets the final Jeopardy question right?

Who else would be to blame?  Except in cases where the question is bad in which case the show usually invites the people back at a later date.

It is true that if any or all of the contestants miss the question, it's their fault.  It's just something they didn't know.  But much like millions of other viewers I don't get involved enough in a TV game show to sit around wondering about it when all three blow Final Jeopardy.    It's just knowledge. Sometimes you have the answer and sometimes they don't.  But here is a fun bar game, probably best saved for when they produce new episodes....At Final Jeopardy everyone who wants to play takes a $5 bill and writes the final answer across the top, remembering to phrase it as a question or they lose.  The winner takes the cash.  If there are multiple winners, the money is divided among the winners.   A fun time is had by all, except the losers, because they are dumb.
