Whatever is this government thinking about letting this creature return to Britain to fight citizenship?

The proceedings can be conducted via video link. We don't need that terrorist in person.

It's the out of touch Judges who are to blame they all seem to be on another planet. There must be a way that the government can overrule them on a matter as serious as this. The judicial system needs a good clear out. This is an insult to all the people who have been killed at the hands of these people.

She should be given citizenship of the islamic state and left to rot there and fend for yourself i dont understand how someone can hold citizenship of a country they despise.

It is the judges in the Court of Appeal, NOT the government.

The government is seeking leave to further appeal the decision.

Ultimately the government can refuse entry on grounds of national security.

It is the Court of Appeal, not the government, that has ruled that Begum can return to the UK. There are no video links to the prison camps in Syria.

Abhorrent though the views expressed by Begum were, the government has allowed scores of worse and older people to return from Syria and Sajid Javid's decision to deny her return in a well-publicised case seemed more about boosting his chances in a Tory leadership contest than strict compliance with citizenship law.

There is no guarantee her UK citizenship will be reinstated but the government will need to justify in a court of law its assertion that she is a citizen of Bangladesh and won't be rendered stateless in breach of international law.

She should be be coming here. She is not a British citizen. She is a citizen of the Islamic State.

She is a British citizen. It is illegal for a country to deprive its own citizens of citizenship if that leaves them stateless. As others have pointed out, like it or not, she’s our problem.

She should be returned to UK to stand trial for her crimes. The UK’s illegal decision to prevent her return has already cost the life of one innocent British citizen, her newborn baby.

Legally you can't make a person stateless, no matter if you like them or not. So she's our problem to sort out
