# I need help on this physics problem! Please and thanks!?

A person who can jump with a velocity of 3.0 m/s reaches a maximum height on a large asteroid of 2.4 m. The gravitational field strength on the surface of the asteroid is __ N/kg. If the radius of the asteroid is 37000 m then the escape velocity on planet X is __ m/s.

1) Let the gravity at the asteroid is g', by v^2 = u^2 - 2gh

=>0 = (3)^2 - 2 x g' x 2.4

=>g' = 1.88 m/s^2 OR N/kg

2) Let the mass of the asteroid is M kg, By g = GM/r^2

=>GM = 1.88r^2 --------------------(i)

By Ve = √[(2GM)/r]

=>Ve = √[(2 x 1.88 x r^2)/r]

=>Ve = √[2 x 1.88 x 37000]

=>Ve = 372.49 m/s
