Can I use liquid nails to attach shoe molding to my base boards?

You could but the problem arises when the adhesive squeezes out onto the baseboard. It is messy to clean and once dry it eventually turns rock hard. Plus the only reason for shoe molding is if the floor covering is tile, vinyl or some other solid surface. When someone is faced with replacing it they won't be able to remove the shoe molding as they would if it were nailed. So it's really not a good idea. If it were me, well if it were me I own a compressor and several finish nailers but I digress. Consider checking out local tool rental businesses and rent what you need for a day instead. I promise someone will be happy you did.

Well you could if you find a way to stay in place until the glue dries.
