Do you ever be handcuffed when you are in jail?

I know I will be handcuffed going from court to jail but do you be handcuffed during your time in jail?

I've seen inmates going from the court in shackles as well as handcuffs. I am going for a non violent crime so do you think I might not be shackled. it looks hard to walk in them

I’ve been to jail a few times and I always had to wear handcuffs pretty frequently. I was handcuffed most days just to walk across the jail to the showers.

Yes, I be seeing prisoners who are difficult to "handle" kept in handcuffs in jail.

No.  They handcuff prisoners when they're being transported--like to and from court.  There's no point in handcuffs or restraints once a prisoner is in a cell.
