how log do I cook a pork tenderloin if recipes calls for 5 minutes per pound at 500 degrees and my roast is 2.61pounds?

    in a fry pan , 5 minutes one side and the other 3 minutes, should be perfect. in the oven its too hot , makes the pork tough.

    The recipe is wrong or part of it is missing. 13 minutes ( 5 x 2.6) at 500 sounds right to sear the outside, but then you have to turn it down to 250 to 350 to let it cook all the way through. 250 will obviously take longer. Additional cooking time maybe 15 - 25 minutes per pound, but the key is to use a meat thermometer.  Regardless of the time, cook to an internal temperature of 145 degrees and then let the roast rest for 3-5 minutes before slicing.
