I need to preface this by saying the the '70s were my prime years for music. By the early '80s life and career were foremost and music was something on the radio while I was working. I didn't but another vinyl album after 1985 and not that many in the '80s.  I had to go through lists to see what songs were on what albums, and the last half of the decade the pickings got slim as more and more rap and hip-hop, and popular artists in the Madonna vein took over the charts.

was an amazing year for album releases. So many great ones - but I have to go with 'Hotel California' - Eagles.

- Rumours - Fleetwood Mac

- The Cars - The Cars

- Another great year, but in my opinion, The Eagles 'The Long Run' was their best studio album, so many underappreciated songs on it.

- Back In Black - AC/DC

- Ghost in the Machine - The Police

- Asia - Asia

- She's So Unusual - Cyndi Lauper

- Heartbeat City - The Cars

- Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits

- Back in the High Life - Steve Winwood

- Document - R.E.M.

- None I could pick out of a Top 100 list.

- The Raw & The Cooked - Fine Young Cannibals

I can't list them, there are over 60, from Aerosmith to Warren Zevon. The 70's were my active hippie days
