No, genius. The first time the towing vehicle slows down or stops, it's going to get rammed by the vehicle being towed.

what everybody here even have forgotten is how on earth is a driverless vehicle going to steer it's self as well as the need for somebody to operate the brakes.

At some point you would have a good chance of the driverless car trying to ether over take you or at the very lest running along side the towing vehicle.

As well as the remarked upon rear end shunts every time you brake

Sure dumbass, but expect damage to both vehicles. Either you're extremely ignorant or you are trolling. Either way - FAIL.

As long as you don't have to stop or go downhill.

I suppose you can tow a car with a tow rope and no driver in the car being towed, but it's not a very good idea.

When you step on your brakes and come to a stop, the flexible tow rope is going to collapse onto the ground, but the towed car is going to continue moving forward. If there's no driver in the towed car to step on that car's brakes and bring it to a stop, it's going to crash into the back end of your car. There will be nothing to stop it.

It's against the law to tow a vehicle with a rope even if another person is in that car.

No since you will surely damage both cars.

Yes if the journey  is uphill or the tow rope is small enough to prevent a collision but otherwise no.

how do you expect the towed car to stop or slow down when using just a rope?  Gonna wait until it rear-ends you?
