Why do animal cells looks like wet and shaggy cartoon dogs and plant cells look like green little boxes?

Plant cells have rigid cell walls. Animal cells do not. The green color comes from chlorophyll, a pigment that absorbs red and blue light to make glucose. Green light is not absorbed and that is why it looks green.

Plant cells have an external cell wall made of cellulose which gives the cells a rigid shape.
