What does N/A mean in a blood test result?

I have had several blood tests, and two have come back as N/A. Does it mean not applicable as in the results are negative?

Thanks for your answers. My GP told me it means not detected, but I have had the blood tests!

If you have a negative result, they're use "neg" or some similar term.

For real, call the doctor's office to ask for someone to tell you what this means. It could be "not applicable," like maybe they didn't test for this but it's on their forms, or it could be sodium, or who knows?
