    Vf = Vo ± a*Δt 

    If starting is from rest , then Vo = 0 and a is positive, therefore :

    Vf = a*Δ t = 1.5*(5.25-0) = 7.875 m/sec

    If the acceleration is constant at 1.5 m/s^2, then we can use a kinematic equation for constant acceleration:

    v = v0 + at = 0 + 1.5 m/s^2 * 5.25 s = 7.88 m/s

    The initial velocity being 0 comes from the fact that the car starts from rest.
