I have a classical Martin 1974 (c-18) in good condition. Can I restring using Martin classical strings with the ball instead of tying them?

Just pay someone who knows what they're doing instead of these idiots on Y! Answers with nothing better to do.

Tying really isn't that difficult but yes, you can use ball-end classical strings on a Martin C-18.

As long as the ball ends fit through the bridge (and I can't imagine why they wouldn't) then I don't see any problem.   If you want more informed answers, try over at the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum: https://umgf.com/index.php
