What can you do to a plumber who charges an outrageous price to have repairs done because your tenant is in need of water?

find someone who has a "handyman" business. generally they charge a lot less than a plumber does per hour.

Nothing except deny the plumber your business, and find another plumber that charges less. And if you didn't get a price quote before the job started, your fault.

You can't do anything. You hired a plumber to do repairs and presumably you got estimates from OTHER plumbers before you signed a work order. If you didn't, then you pay what you're charged. And next time, you get more than one estimate.
If you think the plumber did not do the work you hired him for, then you can take him to small claims court for a settlement. But I'm betting you won't get one--because it's incumbent upon you to pick the one you can afford--it's not up to the plumber to try to BE affordable.

Pay them and find a different plumber.
Divide the bill by 12 and then use it for next year's rent increase.

You're supposed to get a no obligation quote, that means they stick to the price if you actually give them the job. If they won't do this phone a different one.

Get a new plumber next time. Give him a lousy review on the internet so others are warned.

You're the one who hired him!

Get some quotes from different plumbers?
- mokrieLv 71 month ago
Well you can pay him for starters and then call a different plumber the next time.
