What’s the percent chance that COVID-19 will end, and what’s the percent chance that like will ever be back to the “Old” normal again?

What’s the percent chance that COVID-19 will end, and life will be back to the “Old” Normal we knew it? Realistically s it a 100% chance or is it a 0% chance?

We'll never go back to how things were before the pandemic. Changes have happened that will persist even after the pandemic is just a memory.

    0%.

What you know as the seasonal flu is the 1918 Spanish flu. Covid-1 is this year's strain. even if it were completely eradicated, the powers that be NEVER allow things to get back to pre-crisis status.

There is no chance that it will be back to the "old" normal.  Here's why.

At this time of year, it is winter in the southern hemisphere, and flu is normally very common.  This year, it's not.  The number of cases is way down, apparently because the measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (social distancing, wearing masks, closing bars, etc.) have prevented the spread of flu.

If COVID-19 ends and flu is also gone forever, then things will never be back to the old normal -- because flu was part of the old normal.

If COVID-19 ends and flu still exists, then we should keep some of the anti-COVID-19 measures, in order to keep flu from returning to its previous levels.  The fight against COVID-19 has proven that we can prevent, or at least reduce, the spread of flu, and doing that should become the new normal.

Covid will definitely end. If not by a vaccine, then by infecting everybody and killing up to 20% of the human population.

Things will go back to more or less the way they were before. Americans and Europeans might adopt the wearing-a-mask-in-public habit previously only common in densely populated Asian countries. The US government might go bankrupt and cause a lot of economic disruption. But for the survivors in most of the world, life will go back to normal.

There is not going to be new political support for single-payer health care in the US, or shutting down live-animal markets in China, or whatever people are currently demanding to prevent the next pandemic. And even if there was, they wouldn't have much direct effect on your day to day life.

Based on all of history, there's 100% chance Covid will end and things will be back to normal again.
