A train in Europe has an initial velocity of +50.0 m/s.
a) If while braking, the train underwent an acceleration of -2.00 m/s2 for 20.0 s,
what was the train’s braking distance?
b) What was the train’s velocity after the acceleration?

a) s = v₀t + ½at²
s = 50.0m/s*20.0s - ½ * 2.00m/s² * (20.0s)²
s = 600 m
b) v = v₀ + at = 50.0m/s - 2.00*20.0s = 10.0 m/s
