What does the Sears catalog have to do with the military history of the United States?

    at one time....you could order virtually anything from a SEARS catalog.

    How about an example.  Operation Ivory Coast, the raid on Son Tay (link below) in November of 1970.  The assembled force needed to break POW's out of cells.  They needed chain saws, lever bars, and other tools that were not available in the normal supply chain of the US military.  So the two supply sergeants went to the Sears & Roebuck catalog to purchase the items they needed.

    Many guys were forced to use it as masturbation stimulus during WW2.  Be extra suspicious if you 'come' across 2 pages sticking together in the women's lingerie section.
