Why do sales people assume we have money to spare?
- CABLv 71 month agoFavourite answer
Because they offer financing and rely on people who try to live beyond their means

Because if they don't make that assumption, their career implodes.

because they know most people have credit cards and live well beyond their means. That's their JOB........to get money out of a stone -

Why else would you bother going into a shop?

I've worked in a variety of sales-related jobs and yes, selling product is always good
(base salary was typically just above minimum wage) but obviously don't expect that
every potential customer will buy something. On the other hand if you've been looking
at the same item for at least five minutes, have asked if we can either lower price or
work out a deal if getting multiple items, maybe ship it/them, there's usually a reason.
