Why don't doctors prescribe Ambien anymore?

I've been on Ambien for more than 10 years for insomnia. My doctor retired recently and I can't find a doctor to prescribe anymore Ambien. I am told that doctors no longer prescribe it. Is this true and what do I do about it. I can't get to sleep without it. I lie awake for hours and when I do get to sleep its only for a couple of hours at most.

Yeah, that's why they won't prescribe it!  Not supposed to be on it for years and years!
