If you lost weight the healthy way, how did you do it and how long did it take you to get to your ideal weight?

I counted calories. I ate about 2100 Calories per day. I didn't starve. I learned which foods to avoid: donuts, cookies, chips, pies, pizza, French fries, ice cream, sugary drinks. Meat is a low calorie, very nutritious food. I quit counting after seven months, but I kept eating low calorie foods. I lost about one pound per week--50 lbs total. That was 14 years ago, and I have successfully kept my weight down with no trouble. My BMI is 21.0. Eat meat, fat, eggs, cheese, and whole milk dairy products. Avoid carbohydrates.
